Florida Vegetable Recipe
Braised Mushrooms

| 1 1/2 pounds |
large mushrooms, with stems |
| 1 tablespoon |
butter |
| 1 teaspoon |
garlic, minced |
| 1/4 cup |
red wine |
| 2 tablespoons |
Worcestershire sauce |
| 1 tablespoon |
soy sauce |
| 1 teaspoon |
salt |
| 1/2 teaspoon |
pepper |
| 1/3 cup |
mixed fresh herbs (parsley, chives, tarragon, and thyme), chopped |

| Preparation |
| Rinse mushrooms under cool water. Cut large mushrooms
in half. Heat butter in a heavy
saute pan. Add mushrooms and cook about 5 minutes. Add
garlic, red wine,
Worcestershire, and soy sauce. Cover and bake for 30 minutes
in 350-degree F oven.
Remove from oven and add salt, pepper and herbs. Serve hot or
cold as an appetizer or
as a side dish.
