"Fresh From Florida" Photo Contest

Give us your best shot!

If you’re a Florida based-agricultural business, individual, group or organization, you are eligible to enter the “Fresh from Florida” photo contest. Take photos of daily activities in your business. Send us your most creative photos, whether you capture crops in the field, commodities being harvested or food products on display. If your photos are selected, the best will be published in our “Fresh from Florida” magazine and in Internet promotions, exhibits, marketing ads or promotional materials. Three winners will be chosen:

First Place receives a half-page ad in our “Fresh from Florida” magazine ($460 value)

Second Place receives a quarter-page ad in our “Fresh from Florida” magazine ($255 value) or a customized recipe using your product created by our Executive Chef and featured in the “Fresh from Florida” magazine

Third Place receives a “Fresh from Florida” gift bag

Deadline
-- All photos must be received by March 1, 2010.
-- Winners will be announced on March 8, 2010.

Entry Requirements
-- Limit of three photos per entry.
-- All digital images must be of publication quality. Photos submitted must be high-resolution in a JPG, TIF or PDF format. Resolution must be at least 3 megapixels or at least 300 dpi.
-- Photos can be in portrait, landscape or panoramic layout.
-- Color and black-and-white photos are accepted.
-- All pictures must have been taken in Florida.

Contest Rules and Guidelines

1. Any Florida based-agricultural business, individual, group or organization is eligible to enter.

2. Photos must be in their original state. Do not crop photos into circles or irregular shapes, or add decorative borders, backgrounds, captions, text or colorizing. These images will not be accepted.

3. No copyrighted or Internet images will be accepted.

4. Scanned photographs and/or digital camera images are permitted.

5. Camera phone or webcam images are not permitted.

6. We have the right to reject any image that is out of focus, too small, manipulated, or which contains images or information that could be considered offensive.

7. You retain the rights to your photos. However, by entering the contest, you grant the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services the right to publish your submitted photo(s) in the “Fresh from Florida” magazine, Internet promotions, exhibits, marketing ads or promotional materials.

8. Photos will not be sold or redistributed for other purposes.

9. Model Release:
Any individual(s) featured in a photo must sign and submit a Model Release Form. Mail the form(s) with original signature(s), to: Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Marketing and Development, 407 South Calhoun Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32399. Children under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian sign the release form on their behalf. Download the Model Release Form (DOC)

10. Any photograph published in the “Fresh from Florida” magazine will include a photographer credit line.

11. Entries will be judged by a panel consisting of a professional photographer, a graphic artist and a marketing representative. The decision of the judges will be final.

12. Winners will be chosen based on the quality, creativity and overall representation of the agricultural products and/or the business images depiction in the photos submitted. Any Florida agricultural product(s) representing your business must be clearly and easily recognizable in the photo.

13. Only one photo will be chosen for each winner.
